Council on Staff Affairs (COSA) is a recommending body to the university's President as part of our shared governance model at VSU. The Council recommends improvements of policies and procedures related to the general welfare of all concerned within the University community. COSA is comprised of classified-staff employees, representing every division, and two “at large” members. We are focused on issues of importance to classified staff members and the entire university community. More about COSA

2025 - 2026 COSA Nominations Are Now Open!

Are you interested in serving the university as an advocate for Classified Staff? If so, consider nominating yourself to become a representative on VSU’s Council on Staff Affairs (COSA)!

Please use the link below to submit a nomination form for yourself or someone else COSA FY 2025 Representative Nomination Form 

The following positions are open for FY 25 for four year terms.

Finance & Admin– 2 open positions

President’s Area – 2 open positions

Academic Affairs – 1 open position

Enrollment & Student Affairs  - 1 open position

University Advancement – 1 open position

At Large – 2 open positions

In addition, nominations and voting for the FY25 Executive Committee positions will be conducted at the June meeting. All currently seated representatives are required to attend the May meeting IN PERSON.

The Executive Committee positions being voted on include Chair-Elect, Parliamentarian, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations. Only currently seated representatives are eligible to be nominated. Nominees for Chair-Elect must have been on COSA for the full year prior.

Nominations will open after the April 18 COSA meeting and will be open for three weeks to May 9. Voting will take place electronically from May 9 to 15. Winners will be notified and then announced at the May 16 meeting. Newly elected reps will be invited to attend the June COSA meeting as a courtesy and will officially take their positions starting with the July meeting.

USG Staff Council Conference 2025

Valdosta State University will host the annual Univeresity System of Georgia Staff Council Conference in 2025. All staff employees of the University System of Georgia are welcome to attend the annual statewide conference. Information is forthcoming.
